Screen Readers: Software programs that literally read the screen, so that students who are visually impaired or have learning disabilities can access word processing and other kinds of computer programs.
Scan and Read: This program allows students to use a scanner and a computer with voice output to easily read their text books or any other kind of ink print material.
Voice Input or Dictation Programs: These programs make it possible for students who cannot use a keyboard to write papers without assistance.
Screen Magnifiers: Software that makes what is viewed on the screen appear larger.
Spelling and Word Prediction: Word prediction programs can be a big help to students who need assistance with spelling. Our lab is using TextHelp with speech output, so that students who have trouble recognizing words can use the audio output to aid in recognition.
In addition to our software and hardware, we are able to offer one-on-one instruction to each student. This extra help makes it possible for every student to succeed.
