Culture Finder     The online address for the arts -- theater and Broadway,  opera and classical music, visual arts, dance and film. Also contains a calendar of season schedules for 1,500 organizations nationwide.

World Wide Arts Resources (WWAR)    As listed in the Library Journal, a massive gateway site for the Arts developed by Markus Kruse.

Web Museum of Paris    The Web Museum of Paris offers thousands of images, as well as informative essays concerning styles, genres, and mediums. Essays are laced with hyperlinks to definitions of terms or related artists.

The Artchive    The Artchive is a great place to wander around and view art. Online galleries, art CD-ROM reviews, and discussions of historical works are just some of the tidbits you'll find here. This site has to be one of the best collections of masterpieces.

Modern Masterworks    A retrospective look at the Art of the 20th Century.

ARLIS-NA (Art Librarians Society of North America)     A website designed by librarians for resources on architecture.

The State Hermitage Museum     Showcases the vast collections of the State Museum of Russia complete with a virtual tour.

The Louvre--Virtual Visit     View more that 1500 priceless works of art at the Louvre, one of the world's most famous museums. You can also stroll through more than 60 shops in the Louvre area, and take in the sights of Paris.

Art Deco Architecture This site chronicles the development of the 20th century Art Deco movement in architecture. It provides history, architects, example buildings, societies, and related links.

Art History Resources on the Web     This site divides its links amongst time periods, types of Art, and geographic locations. From Baroque to 20th Century, you'll find it here.

Leonardo da Vinci - 1452-1519     This site presents a collection of close to forty models and drawings of machines designed by the artist, as well as three architectural models. Includes important events in Leonardo's life; background on his manuscripts, with links to where they are housed; and related links.

National Gallery of Art Tour    American Impressionists of the Late 1800s and Early 1900s: This small but appealing, online collection of American paintings gives insight into the history , techniques, and cultural position of the American Impressionists who, while following the styles of their French masters, departed from the continental Impressionists in terms of subject, favoring "portrayals of well-dressed, well-mannered high society." The site provides brief histories of each portrait, a discussion of its provenance and conservation, and a bibliography of related scholarly sources.
