Diversity (Biology) An online text by Peter J. Bryant, School of Biological Sciences, University of California, Irvine, examines "the origin, nature and value of biological diversity, the threats to its continued existence, and approaches to preserving what is left.

Earth System Science Online! A repository for Earth System Science education and research resources - a starting point for your reference as you explore this expanding interdisciplinary field, or a place to look for the latest ESS developments. This site is maintained by the Cooperative University-based Program for Earth System Science Education (ESSE) with NASA support as part of the Division of Earth Sciences of the Universities Space Research Association (USRA).

Friends of the Earth Home Page A listing of causes/topics concerning foods, pollution, and wildlife.

Environmental Literacy Council The Environmental Literacy Council, has put together a fairly balanced collection of resources to help teachers and students. The site is divided into sections, each of which contains a hyperlinked bibliographic essay on a specific topic, such as water, forests, biodiversity, food, and population. Each section links to a variety of materials: essays, data pages, lesson plans, articles, related sites, etc. The emphasis is on government and university sources, but numerous articles, reports, and debates also offer opposing views on a number of topics.
