The Merritt College Learning Resources (LRNRE) are courses designed to help all students acquire the basic skills they need to succeed in college and are also courses recommended for students with disabilities.
Department Overview
Welcome to the Learning Resources Department at Merritt College! The LRNRE department offers specialized courses and support labs that promote the success of all students with additional accessibility needs, providing services utilizing assistive technology and individualized support for students with different learning styles or disabilities.
LRNRE offers courses in Computers, English, Math, Studying Skills, Disability Awareness, and Counseling, designed for basic skills preparation in the workplace and to develop pre-collegiate skills that are requisites for the Associate Degree, transfer, and/or other college-level courses. Enrollment in LRNRE courses also provides student with access to campus services, accommodations, and guidance counseling on their entire academic journey. Learning Resources Computer Access Lab
Located in Room P306 at Merritt College, the Learning Resources Computer Access Lab is a welcoming and supportive space where students can access technology, academic support, and assistive tools to strengthen their success.
The lab is open to all Merritt College students and is especially helpful for students with disabilities, students with different learning styles, and students who benefit from one-on-one support. Whether you need help with assignments, Canvas, printing, or using technology for your classes, we are here to help.

Accessibility and Learning Support
The Learning Resources Computer Access Lab is a valuable resource for students who benefit from accessibility tools, individualized support, and different ways of learning.
We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where students can access the tools and support they need to succeed. The lab is especially supportive for students with disabilities and students who benefit from learning in ways that best meet their individual needs.
Assistive and Adaptive Technology
Students may access a variety of assistive and adaptive technology tools, including:

These resources help students better access course materials, complete assignments, navigate Canvas, and build confidence using technology for college success.
Computer Learning Courses
Students interested in strengthening their computer and digital literacy skills may also consider enrolling in LRNRE 211 and LRNRE 272.
These courses provide additional support for students who want to build computer skills, improve comfort with technology, and increase confidence in academic and digital learning environments.
At Merritt College, we believe students should not have to struggle alone. The Learning Resources Computer Access Lab is here to provide support, access, and encouragement every step of the way.
We welcome students to visit us in Room P306 to use the lab, ask questions, access technology, and receive support for their academic success.

Basic Employability Preparation – Certificate of Proficiency
The Basic Employability Preparation Certificate of Proficiency program is designed to prepare students with basic English and Math skills and an awareness of the local employment market.
