Career Opportunities

According to the US department of Labor, there are 299,247 Personal Training jobs available nationally. Employment of Personal Trainers is projected to grow 10-14 % for the next 10 years, faster than the average for all occupations. In California, the annual wage is $47,340- $81,490 at an average median pay of$21/hour (CA-Labor Dept., 2018).  As businesses, government, and insurance organizations continue to recognize the benefits of health and fitness programs for their employees, incentives to join gyms or other types of health clubs are expected to increase the need for Personal Trainers.

Personal Training Certificate

The Kinesiology department offers a comprehensive certification program that develops all the skills necessary to compete in the fitness industry.  Our program is unique because it is a recognized certificate, does not require continued education units (CEU), and is hands-on learning.  Employers prefer to hire Personal Trainers with certification.  Take the opportunity and enroll in the Personal Training Certificate program for an exciting career in the fitness industry.
