About the PCCD Student Health Clinic

The PCCD Student Health Clinic is managed in collaboration with Baywell Health (formerly West Oakland Health Council), a trusted community partner serving the Oakland area for over 50 years.

Services offered at the clinic are funded by the student health fee, ensuring that healthcare remains affordable and accessible to all Peralta students.

Baywell Health’s mission is to advance the dignity and health of the Bay Area’s Black communities while offering a hub of well-being, inspiration, and connection.

Services We Offer

We provide FREE, short-term, confidential mental health counseling for Merritt students needing assistance with:

  • Stress management
  • Anxiety, depression, grief, and other emotional challenges
  • Recovery from trauma, relationship violence, and abuse
  • Addiction counseling and sobriety support
  • Referrals for help with material needs like shelter, food, and safety
  • Assessments for disability accommodations and services

Mental health counseling is available in two formats: remotely (via video appointment) and in-person (at the Merritt Wellness Center, R-106). To request an appointment, click here.
